Strawberry smoothie


200 g fresh strawberries
200 ml soy milk
4 tablespoons vanilla icecream
1 tablespoon sugar to garnish glasses
1 teaspoon vanilla flavour, or to taste

Recipe directions

Clean the strawberries and mix them with a blender. Add the soymilk, vanilla icecream and vanilla flavour. Blend again to obtain a smooth mixture.
Garnish the tops of two drinking glasses with sugar (by first moistening them with water and then dipping in sugar). Poor the strawberry smoothie gently in the glasses.
Serve the strawberry smoothie with a straw.

The strawberry is the most popular type of berry fruit in the world. The strawberry belongs to the rose family. The strawberry is a conically shaped red fruit with seeds embedded on the surface.
There are more than 500 strawberry varieties. The smaller the size of the strawberry, the stronger the taste and aroma will be.
The nutritional values of the strawberry are interesting. Per 100 g raw strawberry you will find 64 mg vitamin C, 0.125 mg vitamin B5, 0.024 mg vitamin B1, 1.6 g fiber and only 32 kcal. The strawberry is also known for its phytochemicals (phenols, ellagitannin and anthocyanin). The anthocyanin in the strawberry does not only provide the red colour but is an antioxidant, which prevents oxygen damage of our cells.
