Soy and acne

Acne ans soya

I've two teenagers 16 and 17 years and they both have intact skins, no acne. Friends of their age have greasy skins with acne. Could this be attributed to the fact that we hardly consume dairy products? When I was young, I had a lot of acne and my husband as well. Maybe milk does upset our hormone balance?

Dairy products and acne

I am 42 years old and have had acne since puberty. I tried many types of medications, all with bad side-effects. I reduced substantially my intake of dairy products seven months ago and within two months, my acne diminished. I now have only the occasional blemish which I contribute to the dairy I do eat (which is very little).

Dairy products and teenagers

Teenager are very health conscious. Thay also use more and more soy foods becasue they know that soy is a good source of complete protein and is free of cholesterol. These are some reasons why soy is food for teenagers:
  • The complete protein is an important source of protein for the muscle development.
  • Soy may help to reduce acnes significantly.
  • Soy may reduce skin damage caused by the sun.
  • Soy helps to maintain bone calcium density.
  • Soy isoflavones are an excellent source of antioxidants for the human body and may protect girls later in their life against breast cancer.
